first open tools-internet options-
under "temporary internet files"
click SETTINGS
new box pops-up
Click "View Objects"
Delete the OBJECTS-
You can keep the ones your sure are ok-
if it still happens then delete those too-
This is the ONLY fix for your problem

Ok - so for the first time ever- after starting a thread-
that didn't work for me--
I believe the NEW replacement of URL's and Extensions
that is automatic in our CHAT AREA is making it so IE cannot read an image's tag-- therefore can only save by default *BITMAP* setting.

my computer says it's not a .jpeg, it dont know what it is

I am so glad i figured out it was a problem with the "CHAT"
before Splodge had to pount it out to me
I wonder if jmh can fix it?

definatly an IE issue, works OK in netscape

My PC only saves as a GIMP image!
