printing preferances > page setup > boardeless printing.
you will get a popup warning you you may loose some off the edge,,,, if it's anything like mine

Do you have any conflicting settings, like Zoom to Fit or fit to media selected elsewhere?
On my Mitsubishi 8000CP, when I'm printing on border-less 5x7 media, I need to make my actual image a fraction larger, like 7.1 x 5.26 to avoid a white unprinted fringe.

Trimmers are fine for single pages, but it you're putting together a magazine, book, or presentation, and all the pages need to be the same as the cover, that could be a lot of low tech trimming. Smile One thousand copies could also be a lot to trimming, And tri-fold flyer's don't look or fold the same when trimmed. Smile
Good suggestion for the lower end jobs though.

MaikroFUN - I'm not sure what size an A4 is but I think that is almost the same as our LETTER size (8.5 inches x 11 inches?

I've got the ip3000 and there is a physical 'border' on it at full size... the printer head can't "run off the edge" so it stops just short of the page edge.

The "borderless printing" is (as I understand it) for prints that are SMALLER than a full size page. Effectively it just pretends that there is an edge to the smaller paper size - in effect the paper is pre-cropped. It would be like Splodge trimming his pages in advance and then lining them up in the center of his printer to print.

I don't know if any of this helps. It certainly has confused ME! Shocked

P.S. - I could not get my BORDERLESS PRINT check box to gray-out, so I'm not sure what is happening on your printer settings regarding that! Huh..

A4 paper size is the European standard to North Americas 8.5 x 11 inches
A4 - 210mm x 297mm
or Approx
8.26 Inches by 11.69
That's about a quarter inch less from side to side and almost three quarters of an inch longer than 8.5 by 11 Stuff we use in the west.
So, border-less printing should be an viable option as long as the paper is aligned properly for feeding.
