No... this shouldn''t win and not because of "who you are" (jeezuz...talk about self importance) but because the source is barely evident . Plus the "breakdown", really doesn't tell much of anything. How bout post'n the psd and make me a believe

the burning couch
So...what was your point*?*

anabe
I don't know who you are...but your profile says you do have advantage. And 38 entries. Plus an attitude...

All source? Looks familiar... rockyourglock.com... bottom of page

Burning Couch Are you saying that a chop which ustilises the source expertly should be disqualified. And... Anabe Gee a glock looks like... a glock, how shocking? Next you will be telling me that things I paint look like the things they look li

Marx-Man
Yes, 100% Source and painting. If you want to see a video of another thing I painted I suggest you go on the forums and look in the drawing thread. :/ Can't do vids for everything I paint as it takes up ram and doubles the time to make something.
the burning couch
"utilizes the source expertly" Really....how so? It's "painted", with a very small piece of the source applied to the trigger guard, as far as I see it. Oh....and not winning doesn't = disqualification*!*
Marx-Man
There's a lot more source in there than you might think, I used it as the colour pallet to select the hues when painting, the slide is made from the base of the screen, the side clip is the blue part...

You forgot to remove the turquoise from your "original" source. Pretty obvious.
papavales
Now i know why you are not going to win for who you are.
Marx-Man
"You forgot to remove the turquoise from your "original" source. Pretty obvious." That's called a hue and saturation layer, the same kind I used to turn the ring gold when painting the ring in this video. youtube.com...

NedStark
you cant really tell the source image from the pistol rendering, I dont see it here,
NedStark
just read some comments.. burning couch points out the obvious
NedStark
although as far as the art goes the same effect could be done by taking a pistol image and running a basic filter on it. That breakdown doesn't explain the process at all, id be interested to view the psd.

NedStark
found your source image: google.com...

I pointed that out already, Ned. It shows clearly that his "painting" doesn't come from the PSC source, but from glock.com He HAD to paint over the flame decor. No "all source" here.
NedStark
took the pistol, flipped it, painted over the flames and ran a filter on it
NedStark
sorry anabe I did not see your comment. ok we had our fun, lets stop basing this dude. just that breakdown fabrication was what made me pick it apart.. look we all use images from the web from time to time, just be real about it guys.
NedStark
Filter = accented edges tone down the brightness should do it. Paint away folks.
anabe
It's just not "all source". On the contrary.

kinetic_be
I feel stupid (again)... Again, I got fooled by a rip-off!!!!!!!!!!
NedStark
yea uploading some vid of a sketch tutorial is a pretty easy thing to do. while were at it, instead of developing ability. Throw filters over images and call it art. my gosh

This didn't win because I see nothing better than playing with an external and doing an ordinary & average execution. 12 votes is OK.

dude give it up, you didn't make the gun from scratch.. just admit it and stop this charade. its ok to use web images, don't say you paint them from scratch and give advise . the psd file you posted is just silly, this gun is 4 steps man 4 layers
NedStark
i cant believe u took the break apart those layers.. man u take that source image, throw some paint over the flames, run a filter.. thats it. geez all of those layers, who are u fooling . I have been doing this for 10 years man.
Marx-Man
Except I actually painted it. It took 8 hours of eyeballing and fixing perspective... It may suit you to not know how to paint and do things the easy way but that is not how I work... So I will ask you again, what do you want me to paint.
NedStark
dude u used the pistol image... It MAY have taken 8 hours to belnd the paint that you through over the flames..which sucks, your trying say u drew and brushed it from scratch. I dont really care man, it's pointless I just dont see how you can persist.
Marx-Man
I can persist because I painted it. Whether you know it or not, I provided the PSD which has the painted layers and overlays from the Gimp and that is stil not enough for you, so I am saying, think of an object for me to paint.
NedStark
save your paint man, just stop.. YOU PAINTED OVER THE GUN>> YOU DID NOT PAINT DAM THING, THE PSD DOESN'T PROVE ANYTHING
NedStark
paint this gun: Oh wait, you already painted this gun, they stole it from you. my bad [img] rockyourglock.com...
