OCR...what do you mean by cooler? the reason his shadow is darker than the trees on the path is that she is closer to the ground...also the different tonalities of the shadows on the ground depend on the character of the ground itself

ie. the shadow of the tree in the right fg is dark at the base then gets lighter in the middle of the path because of the light colored earth then gets darker again on the grass.I took all these things into consideration when making the individual shadows

@ sonic ,if you look closely it´s the ground there that changes tonality,causing the shadow to become lighter...
