Thanks for the suggestions-I cut the canyon wall edges a little sharper and cloned in some more water features in order to achieve a more integrated effect.

Feral Hamster, I believe that you are absolutely right. if I were to do this picture again, I would make the water a much lighter blue, so that it conform to the mood and theme of the entire picture.
