Remember that swim team logo thread of mine from a while back? Well it's being resurrected.

Seems the team didn't act on the logos previously as they weren't sure there would be time to finalize a logo and order the shirts. So the coach and booster club want to revisit it for next year and get a head start on orders.

This time around there's two projects. One is the team t-shirts. These shirts are only for the swimmers and their families. The other is the fund-raiser shirt for selling at the meets (that's the gist of the previous thread).

Anyway I've come up with something that I think would look really cool on a white tee. I've roughed out the concept:

My questions are:

1. Whaddaya think of my concept?
2. What fonts would look better for the motto?
3. Should the "WR" be higher or lower inside the goggles band?
4. What's the best way to create a vector graphic from the goggles? I tried tracing out the goggles in Illustrator but it's looking horrible. I have no clue on translating a 2D representation of a 3D object into an 2D illustration of the 3D object.

Try the Illustrator Live Trace feature.
Or http://vectormagic.stanford.edu/

the 2 in H2O needs to be a bit bigger and higher

As an avid swimmer...I like the goggle wrap, but really need to see a much much much sweeter pair on there, as is, that set...meh.

Got any suggestions Joe? I'm not much of a swimmer so I'm not up on all the latest gear. I just wanted to find a pic with the goggles in that "open" shape so I could put the WR inside them. This is still a pretty rough version.

Also what color should I make the lenses? I personally don't like the orange with the red and black of the logo.

OH! Good idea! I totally forgot about that! And thanks for the feedback on the 2. I'll work on it today.

Edit: Good thing I went to VectorMagic quickly.

The Vector Magic research project is coming to an end. While a precise end-date is not yet set, the computer resources so graciously provided by Stanford will need to be reallocated to other research projects within the next few weeks.

My wife says I need a different font too. I'm gonna try one of the fonts from the "property of" shirts. Hopefully that'll look better.

here are some ideas:

Looks like a recipe...perhaps do the 2 parts and 1 part in that style?

or

make a water molecule with two hearts and the logo as the obsession part.

just thinking out loud.
