I'd post the pic but I'm not allowed to (and no I didn't snap the photo). Okay so this has to be an "explain levels adjustment theory to me please"-kinda post. How would you experts adjust the levels shown below? The noise spikes is confusing to me small brain.

Be easier if you did it in Quicktime.

Not an expert answer, but adding anyways Laughing :
Personally I wouldn't go adjusting the levels without seeing the results on the image Wink And adjusting the levels depends on what results you are looking for, backgrounds, colormatching and more. And what you need to make 'pop'; Highlights, midtones or shadows.

Tofu - eet eez basically INSANE for anyone to try and give you advice based on histograms WITHOUT the actual image. Those spikes could be highlights on water or bright red polkadots on a gray background or even the sparkle of tears on a new bride's face...

(*urg... I think I just puked a bit in my mouth there... Razz*)

With my example below, it is VERY hard, even with the image in VIEW, to make a lot of sense of the colour channel histograms. Though you CAN see a very small spike up at the HIGHLIGHT end, which would be those clouds, and it is rather heavey in the SHADOWS end, which would be all those dark bus windows and that heavy dark blue sky. But try and guess exposure issues specifically just the histograms? VERY TRICKY, my friend. VERY tricky. Raising Brow Raising Brow Raising Brow

So - you can't show us the actual image (I can understand that - i've signed some non-disclosure shite before myself) but can you find some SIMILAR images to post so we can help you better? Huh? Can you? I BET you can't? Raising Brow Razz

Guessinggame:
From the curves I would guess it was a light image with some red and green as main colors. Maybe a christmasimage? tree with red glassorbs? And snow?

This is basically how we use levels to adjust an image. It might fix your issue.
Maybe helpful.

Thanks anyway guys. Sorry I couldn't post the pic. It's a client's house and some of our clients are really paranoid about photos of their homes being online.

I was mainly wondering as levels normally look like the shot below and I've always been told to move the sliders to where the curves begin. So in the below I'd move the highlites slider to the left a bit. But in the pic I referenced I was cunfooseded. Confused
