Good exercise in perception: make it too small for anyone to perceive the flaws! ;) Please see the larger/smoother .gif here: img296.imageshack.us... As always, constructive criticism is INVITED!

Wow...only 1.5 hours after contest opening, and this already has 16 votes! I hope this means that I've at least somewhat succeeded in my goal of making the tree fall ON the viewer. :? I just posted a freeze-frame so you can better examine detail...
cafn8d cafn8d
...and here is the "full-size" image of that frame: [img] img428.imageshack.us... Any constructive criticism is welcome! THANKS:D

Yes, Tofu, exactly. Any suggestions? :)

Caf Iwish I could help. I can pick out the tweaks needed but I don't know how to do them. If I did boy would I compete here! ;-)
cafn8d cafn8d
Your suggestion in that PM to try sperizing the texture as the tree falls is a great one... don't know yet if it'll work, but's something I didn't think to try. Thank you, Tofu! :D

I use ImageReady, but there are many programs out there. Here's the first tutorial I found helpful: graphicssoft.about.com... F%2Fwww.adobe.com%2Fweb%2Ftips%2Fimgranimate%2Fmain.html

Just a thought caf, but to get a little more depth on the trunk try gradually shading as it falls starting from the center of the trunk moving outward.
