Lay off the Magnetic Lasso Tool (or whatever you used to cut the frame out with) and do Reinman's "Pen Tool as Mask Selector" tutorial! :)

Tim got it right. Personally, I think the "constructiveness" of criticism hinges on specificity...Showcase didn't say "this stinks" and leave it at that. There were specific things mentioned. Then again, we're all learning here.

Doggonit,it's a fine chop, don't worry so much.I don't vote for junk and I am voting here. You have more than mastered basic skills.I am confident you will be very soon posting winning images.I like that about you. :-)

Showcase
lots of distortion and perspective problems here AP. parts of the glasses are missing that you should be able to see through the lens, etc. Attention to detail is a MUST for top finishing images.
AlmostPerfect
Geeze... Now I'm supposed to be a professional to even attempt an idea? Sorry Showcase, I thought the whole process of learning was a MUST for top finishing images.

I would say 'holy smokes' but i guess those would be the 12 disciples, fags in britian right?

Da Dude - perhaps if there was some good weed, some vulgar language or porn in the picture it would get more votes but I think the name “Almost Perfect” alone admits room for improvement. Chill out and tone the language down please Dude.

ScionShade
Why should constructive criticism be PM'ed Eve? If AP were a a chopper who didn't care to do good chops, noone would point out stuff to him. It think it was a nice thing to say, and true. I also think DaDude should get a suspension.
AlmostPerfect
Constructive is GOOD... but don't leave someone 'wanting to know what exactly is wrong and what should be done... Just being told the image sucks and needs work is a GIVEN, especially for someone who has only been doing this for a few weeks.

oh boohooo my thing got removed.. and i say what i wanna say, got it?

ScionShade
So AP? You don't want to know what needs to be done to improve? That's silly. DaDude?I know your frustrated cause noone caught on about you being an alias trying to make a big statement and all, but this is kind of rediculous.
Da_Dude
oh and what kind of alias might i be?

Da_Dude

Da_Dude
oh i guess not.. well if that attentionwhore reacts here later on and you wanna know the truth (my penis is bigger than his), than just PM me.. bye
AlmostPerfect
Scion, perhaps you misunderstood me... YES I want 'constructive criticism' But when I'm given 'ballpark criticism' it's not much help, and PMs seem to be more to the point with actual WAYS to better the image.
ScionShade
That also, I must say, is, rediculous.Insulted by someone being helpful.

Last minute weigh in: Private PM's are good to flesh out criticism but public comments help us all. We must remember there is a wide range of talent, experience, and expertise out there and PSC is a fun place to practice, teach, and grow.
AlmostPerfect
Could someone please translate for Scion, obviously my written words are not making any sense to him. All criticism is good, but the best comes with encouragment and details on HOW to obtain a better image. I just believe with PMs you can do more help.

although i do believe in constructive critisism...there needs to be something ...umm constructive in the critisism to be put under that banner. I am in construction and ...lets see...you need MATERIAL to build with and a foundation to build upon...
goldenslumbers
without proper materials ..it really is demolition or destruction...so without proper information on how , why and where to do something..the critisism isnt CONSTRUCTIVE...it is DESTRUCTIVE..whether meant to or not..choose your wordings more appropriatly
