Somebody PLEASE give me pointers on adjusting the toes. I can't figure out what to do.

Edit: I adjusted the luminosity of the hippotoes and that seems to have helped. But I'd like to make them shiny like the rest of the pleather boots. Suggestions?

Hey Tofu! It's my time to help you! Thanks for your comment on my entry... I was tired... there was few small details to adjust. It's done! :) ... ... I thing that some parts of the lighter gray have to be white like the rest of the shoes...

... maybe because the contrast is very low, the best is to duplicate the hippo part and doing a hue/saturation on it (or only adding a hue/saturation adjustment layer), only adjust the lightness, and on your layer mask with a low hardness brush...

... you can take off some bright parts, to bring back some darker gray parts. Especially on the top of the shoes, it's brighter. So the top of the hippos have to be brighter. I hope it can help!! :)

Thanks for the tips Claf! Does it look better?

Yeah! But the new white parts have to be a bit more yellow, like the rest of the bright parts of those boots, and keep generally the top of the hippos brighter too... the light is from the top right side. :)
