I think the angle of the T-rex is quite fine -- makes it look like he's falling backwards; probably the author's desired effect... though I should probably let him speak for himself. :-p

i thought the same thing at first, but the t-rex's feet are clearly in the air, meaning kong just whalloped him. (However, kong does appear to be standing on water, in all his simian christ-like glory)
