Attention to detail is key, imho. The door was only a quarter that size, you forgot the floor, the wood framing in the roof is overstated, the pathway is at the wrong angle (see original). It's nice, but you're avoiding quality with darkness.

That said, it's still good work. Instead of darkening the grass, maybe you could have played around with Levels or with different layers and Blend Modes. Try them out, I think you'll like them.
